Stepping into the castle is like entering a fairy tale! The stunning decor and relaxing library by the fire were highlights. The Douglas Hyde restaurant impressed with exceptional food and impeccable service. Slight hiccups in the Spa's features didn’t overshadow the sublime experience. Worth every penny for a memorable escape!

in awe. Our stay was pleasant, though we did face a power issue in my parents' room. Nonetheless, the staff's warmth made our experience memorable, especially Ms. O'Rourke. The fine dining was exquisite, highlighting creative dishes.

The stunning views approaching the property created a memorable first impression. The hiking trails near the lake were beautifully maintained and enhanced our stay. Dining at the fine restaurant on Saturday was a culinary highlight, with artistic presentation and unique flavors, including a surprisingly tasty seaweed dish.

The castle’s impressive architecture and beautifully restored interiors create a unique and charming atmosphere that's hard to forget. The views of the lake are absolutely stunning, offering a tranquil setting that's perfect for unwinding after a busy day.

There are a couple of quirks that could use some attention. Access to the lift requires walking through the dining room, which can be awkward during meal times. The casual dining area doubles as a thoroughfare, leaving no privacy while dining. Additionally, the pool area had hygiene concerns with strollers and shoes making their way inside, which detracted from the overall experience. Lastly, the lack of a dedicated kids’ space makes this spot less family-friendly than expected.

The Dungeon Bar provided a unique atmosphere with live music, while the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel valued throughout our stay. I especially enjoyed the breakfast, which included a variety of local dishes. However, the dining options could be improved to match the overall luxury feel of the property.

Kilronan Castle Hotel & Spa offers a charming blend of historical elegance with modern comforts. The grand decor and stunning lake views create a serene atmosphere, making it easily accessible and enjoyable for us seniors without any hassle.

The splendid grounds and friendly staff stole the show at Kilronan, even if the room showed signs of wear with a broken furniture piece and no hair dryer. Dining was memorable, but the tasting menu didn't quite land. Would definitely return for the beautiful setting.

Maintenance of facilities definitely needs attention—leaky taps and broken spa jets are not what you expect in a hotel like this!!! Plus, more accessible seating options in dining areas would vastly improve comfort!!!

It was just an excellent fit for a passing visit in Ballyfarnon with good value for cost. The staff provided heaters quickly to warm up our cold room, which I appreciated. Make sure to check the heating situation if you’re visiting in winter.
